Appreciation and discrimination

I read recently about David Arumugam and Alleycats were given Pingat Johan Setia Mahkota (JSM) by the Agung. Congratulations David but I think you guys deserve a higher anugerah such as Datuk. Your contribution in music industry in Malaysia is extremely great, consistent and you have great fans all over Asia (if this is not too much I would say). Alleyscat deserves more regonition than Shah Rukh Khan - yes he is top actor in Bollywood scene but why should we recognise him more than we recognise or appreciate our very own local artists and musicians?

This is what we can say "Kera di hutan disusukan dan anak di pangkuan mati kelaparan". Stop those discriminations, I think we have enough discriminations by some radio stations - they prefer to play Indonesian songs compared to local songs. Of course we dont deny some Indonesian songs are more melodic with nice lyrics but that's not the reason for sidelining our own singers, bands and songs!!

To Malaysian composers, let's come up with better songs, good lyrics, choose the right singers, don't simply produce albums just because you have to produce but study the demand and market first. Don't blame Anwar Zain when he bought/used Indonesian songs for his latest album, how he has worked so hard to produce his own album with quality songs.

Anwar, I just love to hear your "Lelaki ini" dan "Ketulusan Hati" and David, your "Senandung Semalam, Nota Terakhir and Keranamu Kekasih" - those songs are the most memorable one!!
