Last week when I was driving my car from Damansara Heights to Ampang, it took me 2 hours because of heavy traffic, not sure what was the cause. On the way back from Ampang to my house near Jalan Kuching, suddenly my car stopped exactly in the middle of the road near Palza Pekeliling. I was calm since I know I'm AAM member. I quickly called AAM and made report.
I felt guilty for making the traffic became worst with my broke-down car but nothing I could do except for waiting for AAM to reach the plave where I was. The story here is not so much about the traffic jam or car broke down BUT about our KL urbanised people towards a lady in trouble at that time.
For the first 20 minutes, NONE stopped by to offer help or at least had the courtesy to stop and ask me but I was still positive, may be because they saw AAM sticker at the back of my car so I kept standing nearby my car. There was one young guy slowed down his motorbike, I thought he wanted to offer his help but he was actually said "Fuck U, buat orang susah jam panjang" and he went off. Then another guy on motorbike said the bad word "P****t you, tak check kereta ka???? Bodoh!!"
Then another man in his Camry slowed down and wound his window screen and shouted at me "Hoi, bodoh bikin orang jam like hell!!!!" Oh God, I was just looking at him and I smiled. To cut the story short, there was I think about twenty men or guys passed by, not even stopped but to curse me with all sort of bad words.
After almost half an hour there was an Indian man (in his late forties I think) on his motorbike stopped by and asked me what happened. He tried to start the engine, play with the gear etc but it didn't work. Then he offered his help to remove/shift my car to the left lane (my car stopped on the right lane) so he was pushing my car while I acted as a police traffic rose my hand to stop the incoming cars. He managed to park my car closed to the left side of the road and the traffic wasn't that bad. I thanked him (but forgot to ask his name - bloody me) and I told him I was waiting for AAM service so he left me. I was on Jalan Tun Razak for almost one and a half hour when AAM mechanic actually arrived to sort out my car problem.
I remembered when I was visiting London and North Wales (we were driving an 8 passagers van to Snow Donia, Lechester and Labourough) along the journey those drivers were respect people, never simply honk another car infront of them no matter what and didnt cut queues at all!!!
KL! KL! where is your civic minded? Do we need to tell you how to respect people? It's true that we have first class infrastructure with the third class mentallity!!
